ICT Policy of Nepal

Government of Nepal has placed a great deal of importance on transformative potential of ICT’s and positioning these technologies within the larger context to reduce make each citizen access to information technology.

The development of ICT policy started with the telecommunications Act of 2053 (1997) and the Telecommunication Regulation of 2054 (1997).

After a demand for the revised policy featuring the Information Communication Technology as a whole, the government of Nepal revised the Information Communication Policy 2072 (2015).

This policy as a whole regulates all the activities regarding the ICT which also include the private sector participation as well.
